Perfect Ponds was started by Martin Cockell in the year 2000, a
hobbyist of well over 20 years.
He has always had a pond and can remember when
his father had a sunken bath, as a pond, in his back garden when
Martin was a child. The only time that the fish could be seen in
this ‘pond’ was when it had been cleaned out and the
fish in it then were Roach.
The main pond in his garden now is a part raised
pond with pump and filter house attached, with various fish and
plants in it.
The second pond was a wildlife pond but has now
been changed to a Japanese design with a bridge over it and lights
that are on a time switch to come on during the hours of
darkness.
Taking advantage of the pump house, a third pond
has been attached to this and will be for Koi only when completed.
This will be part raised with a Pergola over it and a seating area
around it.
Martin is lucky to have a large garden and a
very helpful wife to help him with the gardening.
